• Day 01 – Arrive Chennai

  On arrival at Chennai airport/railway station you’ll be received by our tour representative who then escorts you to hotel for dinner and night stay

• Day 02 – Excursion to Tirupati and back to Chennai

  Post breakfast we make an excursion to the famous pilgrimage destination of Tirupati. On reaching we travel to the Tirumala hilltop to visit the famous shrine of Venkateswara Balaji. Post Darshan we visit the other important temples of Tirupati such as Sri Padmavati Samovar temple, Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple, Sri Kapileshwara temple, Sri Govindaraja swamy temple, Sri Kodandaramaswamy temple, Srinivasa Mangapuram and Tiruchanoor. After the Tirupati temple tour, we return to our hotel in Chennai for dinner and night stay.

• Day 03 – Chennai-Kanchipuram-Mamallapuram

  Post breakfast we leave for Mahabalipuram and en route visit the ancient temple town of Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram is dotted with numerous temples and famous worldwide for the special Kanchipuram silks. At Kanchipuram we visit the temples like Kamakshi temple, Ekambareswarar temple, Vaikunta Peruma temple, Kailasanathar temple. Most of these temples date back to as far as the 7th century. After Kanchipuram temple tour we head straight for Mamallapuram. On reaching, we check into hotel and later proceed for a short Mamallapuram tour. Mamallapuram is an idyllic temple town set along the coastal belt. The places covered during this tour include Thirukadalmallai, Pancha pandava rathas, pagoda style shore temple, Arjuna’s cave of penance. Temple photography on the shore at twilight is a major tourist attraction. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay

• Day 04 – Mamallapuram-Tiruvannamalai-Pondicherry

  Next day we depart for Pondicherry and en route visit the ancient Heritage site of Tiruvannamalai. We visit the 9th-10th century old Arunachala temple atop Arunachala hill at Tiruvannamalai. It is a lord Shiva temple and is notable for its mammoth gopurams. After Darshan we drive straight to Pondicherry/Puducherry and check into hotel for dinner and night stay

• Day 05 – At Pondicherry

  Next day we set out to explore the neat and calm city of Pondicherry. This once-upon-a-time French colony still retains vestiges of the French influence. The sites we visit at Pondicherry include Varadaraja Perumal temple, Manakula Vinayagar temple, Vedapureeswarar temple, Sri Aurobindo Asharam, Sacre Coeur Church, Pondicherry museum. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay

• Day 06 – Pondicherry-Chidambaram-Thanjavur

  Next day we hit the road for Thanjavur/Tanjore and en route visit Chidambaram, another holy land. At Chidambaram we visit the Thillai Nataraja temple that enshrines lord Shiva not as a lingam but as Nataraja; the cosmic dancer of Tandava nritya. After Darshan at the Chidambaram temple we drive straight to Thanjavur and check into hotel for dinner and night stay

• Day 07 – Thanjavur-Tiruchirappalli

  Next morning we set out to explore the beautiful and culturally enriched city of Thanjavur. Thanjavur is the seat of a unique painting form referred to as the Tanjore paintings. It is also the place where traditional Carnatic music took its birth. At Thanjavur we visit the famous Brihadeeswara temple which has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Brihadeeswara is one of the most ancient lord Shiva temples. Later during the day we leave for Tiruchirappalli or Trichy. On reaching check into hotel for dinner and night stay

• Day 08 – Tiruchirappalli-Madurai

  Next morning post breakfast we set out to explore Trichy or Tiruchirapalli. First of all we visit the island of Srirangam where stands the famous temple of Sri Ranganathaswamy. This temple has a gopuram that is recognized as one of tallest gopurams in the whole of the country. This Gopuram dominates the skyline for many miles around. Apart from the Ramanathaswamy temple we also visit the attention grabbing historic landmark of Trichy; the rock fort. Later during the day we hit the road for Madurai. On reaching check into hotel for dinner and night stay

• Day 09 – At Madurai

  Day 9 is given completely to the exploration of Madurai. Madurai is often looked upon as the ‘lotus city’ and has a history that dates back to nearly 2500 years. We first visit the famous Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple of Madurai. This temple has goddess Parvati as its presiding deity. However Sundareswarar; i.e. Lord Shiva too is worshipped here with immense pomp and grandeur. According to myths Lord Sundareswarar got wedded to Goddess Meenakshi at this place. After paying Darshan at the Meenakshi temple we also visit the other attractions of Madurai such as Vandiyur Mariamman Tank, Thirumalai Nayak palace. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

• Day 10 – Madurai-Kanyakumari

  Next morning we leave for the shore destination of Kanyakumari located on the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula. On reaching check into hotel and later proceed to explore the enchanting Kanyakumari. The places you visit include Kumari Amman temple, Swami Vivekananda memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue. Legends tell that at Kanyakumari Devi Parvati had undertaken strict penance in order to win lord Shiva as her husband and she did that in the guise of a young virgin girl. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

• Day 11 – Kanyakumari-Trivandrum

  Next day we head for Trivandrum. On reaching check into hotel and later proceed to explore the city of Trivandrum. The sites we visit are Padmanabhaswamy temple and Napier museum. Padmanabhaswamy Temple is a lord Vishnu shrine. The shrine grabs all attention due to its exquisite murals and ornate carvings. Napier museum dates back to the 19th century and exhibits some rare collection. Back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

• Day 12 – Trivandrum departure

  Next morning you are dropped at Trivandrum railway station/airport where our representative sees you off and you depart for your onward journey back home with lots of happy memories of the tour.
